The broken handle on its own.
The printed handle on its own.
The handle fitted to the pan and in use.
The pan handle that couldn’t be bought
The problem. The handle on a pan snapped. The pan was fine. The handle was not sold separately, and the pan was not made any more. The whole pan was about to be thrown away because one plastic part broke.
What we did. Scanned the broken handle, including the fitting that bolts onto the pan. Rebuilt it as a CAD model. Printed a new one.
The result. The pan is back in use. The handle cost a fraction of a new pan, and the file is on record, so the next one takes minutes.
Why it matters. This is the whole business in one small job. A thing you own is useless because one part broke and nobody sells that part. We measure what is left and make a new one.
